Mumtaz Bhutto alleges Sindh govt helping Khuhro community

LARKANA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has said that the Khuhro community people have been occupying requisite land with assistance of police since the last four years in which seven of his farmers and nine people of the Khuhro community have lost their lives. He alleged it has all happened because of the Sindh government’s help to the Khuhro community. He said that the police was still providing protection to the Khuhro community which has also handed over possession of land to them. Mumtaz Bhutto said a village of Bhutto community has been forcibly occupied with the help of the police by the Khuhro community. The dwellers were forced to leave the land. The said land has been procured from revenue department and demarcation of which has also got carried out by Settlement Department by Khuhros but even then they did not accept it and filed suit in a civil court which was also decided against them, he claimed. Mumtaz Bhutto said even after that they have forcibly occupied the land and record have proved that police was helping them because I, myself and my son have also been nominated in five murder cases along with others and all were on bail. He said despite registering FIRs, police has never taken any action against them and cases have been sent to cold storage. He said that the present situation was very doleful as farmers had gone to the forest to cut firewood where they were fired upon by the Khuhro community people with sophisticated weapons. He said after procuring land from the revenue department, a standing forest was being removed to make land cultivatable where water pumps were installed after spending Rs 1.2 million for electricity connection which has also been removed by the Khuhro community. Mumtaz further said that tube wells, seeds, pesticides and other material worth millions of rupees have been occupied by the said community. He warned that record of highhandedness was being kept which would one day be taken. Meanwhile, an injured person Sunhno Kurio has expired in Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana bringing the loss of human lives to four in recent bloody dispute which took place in limits of Ketty Mumtaz police station on first day of 2018 between Khuhro-Bhutto communities over ownership of land. FIR 01/2018 has been registered at Ketty Mumtaz Police Station by Muhammad Hanif Kurio, brother of Momin Kurio who was killed, under sections 302, 324,, 148, 149, and 337 H2 PPC against 17 people including 15 persons who have been nominated.
