ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday submitted an application in the Supreme Court seeking three ‘certified sets’ of joint investigation team (JIT) report to file re
ferences against ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.
The NAB has also sought Volume-X of the report, which has been kept ‘confidential’ by the apex court on the request of JIT head Wajid Zia, as
it could help in further investigations.
The NAB has already received one ‘certified set’ of the JIT report containing nine volumes. In its application, NAB stated that it has to file four re
ferences against Nawaz Sharif and his family and that JIT report’s certified copies were required to attach with each re
ference.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court registrar has already turned down NAB’s request seeking Volume-X of the JIT report.
On July 31, 2017, the NAB had asked its Director General (DG) Balochistan, Ir
fan Naeem Mangi, to implement the Supreme Court’s July 28 order in the Panam

Mangi, who was part of the JIT that probed Sharif family’s business concerns and dealings, will file re
ferences against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif; his children Hussain, Hassan and Maryam Nawaz; son-in-law Capt (r) Safdar; Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and others named in the Supreme Court verdict in Panam
