LAHORE: A doctor and a paramedic have been injured duri
ng a brawl between young doctors and paramedical staff at Sheikh Zayed Hospital i
n Lahore on Wednesday.
A paramedic reportedly sto
pped the young doctors when they were trying to enter a professor’s room there at the hospital, which led to a heated argument.
The patients continued to suffer as the emergency ward was closed during the clash.
The hospital administration called the police to control the situation.
The clash was not the first of its kind.
Public hospitals in Punjab have been under fire for the past few years as young doctors are used to staging protests against hospital administrations and the provincial government, accusing them of disregarding their rights.
